TMRS-201 Overview

TMRS-201 is an advanced, professional, wireless multimedia streaming/ recording device which broadcasts live high quality 2 video channels, two way audio and GPS Location to anywhere using mobile networks (3G) and WI-FI networks. The unit switches between WI-FI and cellular networks automatically and gives priority to WI-FI. The unit can be monitored and controlled from any location globally using the MRS software suite, via PCs/ laptops/ smart phones/ tablets. TMRS-201 supports 1 video channel.

The TMRS-201 Unit is a portable, metal case, handheld device (wearable) and is designed for any bodyworn application such as: policemen, fire fighters, security guards and others. The visual point of view of personnel in the field can be monitored live from any remote location. The unit is also an ideal solution for mobile vehicles, personal assets and all other streaming applications (both mobile and fixed position surveillance).

TMRS-201 is optimised for wireless cellular/ WI-FI networks and provides stable video streaming at the highest available quality, without visable performance lag (low latency). The system is designed for streaming in low network bandwidth environments over long distances and is tolerant of packet failure when cellular GSM reception is low. The unit is very small in form (5 x 10 x 2.8 cm) and uses very low power (5V). The unit has a built in rechargeable lithium battery which can feed power to any 5V analogue Camera for portable use and allows for 4.5 hours of video streaming without being connected to an external power source. Any analogue PAL/NTSC camera can be connected to the unit.

TMRS-201 Features

Portable system

The TMRS-201 unit is a handheld wearable solution (5 x 10 x 2.8 cm), and is designed and optimised for cellular & WI-FI networks.

2 x Video Channel

The unit features 2 RCA video input channel. Any Analogue PAL/NTSC camera can be connected to the unit for live video streaming.

Two way audio

TMRS-201 supports two way VOIP (Audio In/Out streaming), which allows voice communication between the unit and any connected PC/ Laptop/ Smart phone. The unit has a built-in microphone and speaker, however external audio peripherals can be attached to the unit as well.

GPS Tracking

The unit has a built-in GPS Receiver which provides accurate GPS co-ordinates. The system features a variety of GPS functions such as: Live GPS tracking/ map recording/ GPS alarms/ speed tracking/ satelite and coordinates information and more.

Video Compression

The system uses a high performance DSP based video CODEC (H.264/ .FLV), allowing you to stream live video at the highest available quality over wireless mobile networks (low latency).

Dual Video Encoders

TMRS-201 has dual video encoders which allows the unit to live stream and record video at separate bit rates and frame rates. This feature can help with reducing mobile data consumption.

Built-in Cellular Module

The unit has a built-in cellular module (3G/4G) which supports most cellular service providers around the world. The unit only requires a SIM card (data only) to operate.

Built-in Wi-Fi Module

The unit has a built-in Wi-Fi module which supports 802.11 b/g/n WI-FI networks. The unit switches between WI-FI and cellular networks automatically and gives priority to WI-FI.

Visual Motion Detection

The TMRS-201 has built-in Visual Motion Detection (VMD), which can be activated on any camera connected to the unit and can be set to trigger a variety of actions, such as video streaming, recording and others.

Recording

The unit's live video/ audio/ GPS streams can be recorded inside the unit on a Micro SD card, remotely on the server, or from any location gloabally using MRS monitoring clients (PC's, Laptops, smart phones) via the internet.

PTZ Control

The TMRS-201 has built-in RS-485 ports (T+/ T-) which support PTZ cameras using Pelco D protocol. The system allows you to control the Pan, Tilt and Zoom functions of the supported PTZ camera, live from any location.

GPIO

The TMRS-201 has 8 built-in GPIO ports (4 Input Sensors/ 4 Output Switches) for external peripheral devices. The GPIO ports can be set to trigger a variety of actions such as: video streaming, recording and others.

Automatic Bandwidth Control

The unit features automatic bandwidth control, which will automatically decrease the bit rate and frame rate of the video channel (if they are set to high), in order to support the mobile network bandwidth.

SMS

The unit can send SMS alerts to any number of mobile phones, as a result of various alarms being triggered such as: VMD and GPIO/ Alarm Button. Supported mobile phones can also receive images of the video stream.

Device Recording on Micro SD

The TMRS-201 has a Micro SD slot for onboard device video/ audio recording. The unit supports up to a 32GB Micro SD card (SDHC). The unit also includes built-in memory storage of 128MB.

Alarm Button

The unit has a built-in alarm-button which can be pressed by personnel in the case of an event or emergency. The Alarm Button can be set to trigger a variety of actions such as: video streaming, recording and others.

Encryption Capabilities

The TMRS system supports secure data encryption between the unit, server and any clients in the network. Recorded files can be encrypted as well.

Battery

The unit has a built-in 4000mAh rechargeable lithium battery. With a full battery, the unit can stream video for about 4.5 hours, without a power supply being connected.

LAN

The TMRS-201 unit has a built-in LAN interface for streaming live media via any local area network to any location. An Ethernet cable is included with the unit.

BlueTooth

PMRS-201 has built-in BlueTooth interface for setup

Low Power

The TMRS-201 unit uses low power and has a 5V-15V DC power input for charging. The unit can easily be connected to an external solar power source as well.

System Architecture

The MRS system has 2 major architectures:

  • Option 1: Server Based Architecture (recommended):
  • This architecture is based on a server with a fixed IP address. Multiple units can communicate with the server as well as multiple clients. All clients are connected to the server only and have viewing and control capabilities.

  • Option 2: P2P (Peer to Peer) Architecture:
  • In this configuration, the server coordinates a signal from the unit directly to the client without stopping at the server. This architecture is ideal for servers that have low bandwidth capabilities.

The MRS architecture is based on a MRS server which can reside either on an Internet fixed IP, VPN or inside the unit. The MRS architecture was designed specifically for multi unit, long distance environments such as wireless cellular networks. MRS has real time bandwidth control capability and is very tolerent of packet failure. Below is a diagram of Server Based Architecture:
